There are several ways of
travelling to the
Isle of Wight, with two ferry companies,
Red Funnel and Wightlink and
a hovercraft with Hovertravel, the fun all starts with a sea
journey. You can bring a car, the roads are
clearly marked, or travel on foot, there is a
train service running from
Ryde Pier Head,
which meets the fast cat from Portsmouth,
to Ryde Esplanade, Brading,
Sandown and
Shanklin.
The
Isle of Wight Steam Railway connects at
Smallbrook Junction where you can travel to
Havenstreet and Wootton.
There is a good bus service
operated by
Southern
Vectis. You can take in the views from
the top deck of a bus. Rover tickets are
available from Travel offices or on the bus.
